In 1990, Na Pu´uwai was awarded a grant and established the Na Pu´uwai Native Hawaiian Health Care System.

Under the federal Native Hawaiian Health Care Act of 1988, Na Pu´uwai accepted the responsibility to spearhead the planning for a Native Hawaiian Health Care System for the Island of Molokai and Lanai.

Na Pu´uwai has developed a healthcare system for Molokai and Lanai that offers the following services:

  • Dental Education for Elementary School children
  • Cancer Awareness Education and Prevention
  • Promotion of the traditional Hawaiian Diet/Healing Practices
  • Healthy Nutrition Educational Classes
  • HIV/AIDS Education and Prevention
  • Asthma Education and Management
  • Fit for Life
  • Women's Health Education, Breast/Cervical Screening Clinics
  • Tobacco and Smoking Awareness
  • Diabetes Education and Prevention
  • Cardiovascular Risk Disease Education, Cardiovascular Risk Clinic Screening (CRC)
  • CPR Education and Training Center
  • Hearing and Screening for Elementary School Children
  • Podiatry Evaluation and Education
  • Rural/Health Outreach Grant Program
